This is short but useful book from a local. It is an alternative to long thick travel guides and is somewhat better than a website. Used it on my iPad as it is less weight than a book and works while disconnected. Thanks to the book visited a few great places off the beaten path and without tourists. A bit more structure to the book would make it more readable. Pictures would've helped selling places and managing expectations.
Reads like a sales brochures. Not particularly informative. I deleted it from my Kindle.
I have a number of other Big Island guides and this one is like a Cliff Notes version of them. Not very useful.
Not much of a book. Very few travel hints or details.If you want to get a book that is worth it buy the one I ended up buying after being dissatisfied with this.(see my review)Hawaii The Big Island Revealed.
i have other travel books on the big island Bought this one because it is only 99 cents. Well thats what it is worth. a quick guide with not much detail on anything.
Authors actually visited each place personally and honestly reported what they saw. Noted the "Don't miss" places, and things to do. Good info about rental cars.
I purchased this on my Kindle before my husband and I went to the big island to get married. I did take my Kindle, but forgot that I downloaded it, so we didn't use it. However, we are considering moving to the big island, and we will definitely go back, so it will be used later.
Book too short. A quick search on the internet will tell you more. The author founded a travel company and the only thing the book as is links to those websites Don't waste 99 cents!
