I don't even know where to start with this review... I've been a fan since A Snow Covered Moon and after Murder of Crows I was sure nothing else could surprise me... but BOY was I wrong. I went through an emotional rollercoaster throughout this entire book. My heart hurt. I thought I was ready... I was not. Every word was bleed on the page and left a gaping hole in my heart by the time the end rolled through. I'm not sure if you're familiar with the saying 'the bottom dropping' but Sacred Bones had it's bottom dropping moment and I wasn't sure if the characters or I was going to survive to the end. Many times I wanted to flip to the last page just to see if things were going to get better. Everything that came before this book was NOTHING compared to the dark, twisted, and lovely things you're put through during this installment. Growth, setbacks, and down right I can't believe it moments. We've seen hints and snippets of what was coming in the 5 books before this one but nothing prepared me for the gut wrenching sobs, fear, and disbelief that I went through. Many times I found myself saying 'this isn't real' or 'this can't be happening'. I thought it was a mistake... pieces of the story were missing but nope it was all there. I've said in other reviews we were at the calm before the storm part of the series and Sacred Bones is exactly the storm I knew was coming. Sometimes for things to get better, they have to get worse. Well done and I can't wait to see what happens next.
Sacred Bones in one word is INTENSE... I never have any expectation of a book I read. Once I get an author I like I'm usually confident the book will be a good read. This book met those expectation and more. It will make you fall further in love with the core characters. Then it will rip your heart into shreds. You'll cry and hurt in ways you can't imagine. L. M. Adams is a masterful storyteller. She seeps into your heart slowly, once she's in she sticks a dagger into it, kisses you and you love it... haha... As the TE Series progresses, the story gets more intriguing and consuming. The character development is evident. In Sacred Bones you get a chance to see your favorite characters and maybe the ones you love to hate grow in ways you don't expect. There is so much to say that I'm speechless... It is WORTH every tear and heartache you will feel because there is still a glimmer of hope...
Warning this book contains graphic rape scenes. If you thought Sheba was bad wait until you meet Hornigold. Jaevia's world goes from bad to worse when she is given to the Sacred Bones. Tabari is back to answer for his betrayal but he is not the only one who has betrayed Jaevia. She has a tough road ahead of her but with the love of her two men there is still hope. I love these books. L.M Adam's has the courage to write dark tales with brutality and horror only for her characters to survive and find love and beauty in the dark. She sets herself up for scrutiny and judgment but still has the courage to publish these books. I am so glad that she did. She is a phenomenal writer and I'm excited for her work yet to come.
I was wondering how LM Adams would be able to top the last Twisted Eventide book but it got topped! This was an amazing story of Pain, Endurance and Overwhelming Love! So much happened in this book that I have a hard time grasping it all.Jae and her boys, Jack & Lucien are trying to keep their lives together. Still rocked by the betrayal of Tabari. Then who shows up? Tabari. He has the noted that Jae had written him but never delivered. The team starts to think there is a traitor amongst them. Tabari has been cursed and is slowly dying but he needs to try to make amends with Jae. Then Sheba shows up and all hell breaks loose.Jae wakes up in the middle of a murder scene, she's standing with Tabari and the CNAE have them surrounded.I really do love this series and I wait, very impatiently for the next book to come out. This is why I only try to read established series. I have NO patience. LOL
Book 6 in the Twisted Eventide series...goes straight to your heart. Nearly made (the girl who rarely cries) cry. The feels...feel real. It's dark, it will either make you cringe or maybe gag a bit. Just head the warning, but if you've read the others in the series....it pushes you further
I bought the first in this series and read it in two days. It didn't take me long to realize I needed to read the rest. I loved getting involved in this world and being a part of its characters and watching Jae as she evolved and matured.
Just finished. ..OHHH MY GAWD! The tears that I've shed with this story surpassed the whole series. You've really outdid yourself with this one. I can't wait for everyone to read it. This story takes you where you never wanted to go but is so with it. .keep going.
OMG!! Been a fan, read each book of the series several times yet this is the most intense read of them all. I for one am a very emotional person so it took me a minute to get through. Each page being like having my throat and heart switching places constantly with eyes glued or taped open to keep on reading while cringing, tearing, rocking and humming(yeah it's like that lol). At a loss for words so I may detail this review later but I can say definitely a MUST read!!
