About the Author
Theresa M. Campo, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, ENP-BC, FAANP, received a doctor of nursing practice degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, and a master's of science in nursing degree from Widener University in Chester, Pennsylvania. Theresa has over 23 years experience in emergency medicine as a registered professional nurse and advanced practice nurse. She is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as a family nurse practitioner and the American Nurses Credentialing Center as an emergency nurse practitioner. Dr. Campo is the co-director of the Family Nurse Practitioner track and associate clinical professor for the College of Nursing and Health Professions at Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She works clinically as an emergency nurse practitioner in the emergency department at Atlanticare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and is an adjunct professor at Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Campo has lectured nationally and internationally, as well as authored articles in peer-reviewed scholarly journals and is on the editorial board for the Advanced Emergency Nursing Journal.

I sent this back. I bought this book as it was priced well compared to another reference. There are fewer procedures included than expected and many of the topics were somewhat obscure. Just not user friendly nor particularly useful. Would have been more helpful to show step by step procedures of common procedures.
I really love this book. I am currently an emergency RN seeking my FNP and planning to work in my ER upon graduation. For what my MSN program is lacking in teaching clinical procedures, etc., this book really fills in a lot of the gaps. I think if you are needing a very comprehensive, basic introduction, this is the perfect book. It goes into a lot of details on procedures which is great, and includes excellent illustrations and pictures as well. There is also access to online videos which I have not watched yet, but plan to. I don't think it is as fully comprehensive as a book you could probably get for more money but it is great for a really decent introduction. Step-by-step manual for common office procedures with black and white photos. The manual contains drug dosages and common drugs to prescribe for certain situations, such as augmentin for dog/cat bites. It also describes in detail digital blocks, abcess removal, suturing and suture removal. I do think this is a great introduction to these procedures, but it can be helpful to augment your learning with videos.
This is the updated version,Procedures are the same, but insurance and billing info had been added...great resource.

I think the content of this book is useful. Unfortunately, there are serious formatting issues with the Kindle edition. I certainly don't want to carry around a bunch of heavy books but I returned the Kindle edition and ordered the hard copy.
